[Tokushima] 'Kayuu Akanean' Local Ingredients Used in Japanese Sweets 'Lotus Flower'

2026/08/18

Tokushima's famous Japanese sweets shop 'Akanean'.

Inside the store, Japanese sweets are also sold, but this time I enjoyed the 'Seasonal Course' offered exclusively at the café.

What I had that day was the August café exclusive sweet 'Lotus Flower'.

Since Tokushima Prefecture is known for delicious lotus root, this sweet expresses the pure beauty inspired by the lotus flower. The moment it was served, I was captivated by its delicate beauty.

Wrapped in a transparent dough, the pale pink color resembles lotus petals.

When I took a bite, a refined sweetness spread, leaving the flavor of the ingredients and a refreshing aftertaste. In addition to this Japanese sweet, the course also included tea, matcha, and yuzu juice.

The yuzu juice served in a beautiful deep red vessel can be enjoyed not only for its taste but also visually.

The refreshing acidity and aroma of yuzu enhance the sweetness of the sweets, leaving a refreshing sensation in the mouth.

Since it's a seasonal menu, it seems that the menu changes regularly.

It's a wonderful shop that I definitely want those who want to enjoy high-quality Japanese culture and a relaxing time in Tokushima to visit.
