THE HISTORICAL ARCHIVE MUSEUM OF TOMIOKA

2026/07/31

This museum is maintained by Tomioka Town.

It houses and exhibits local materials inherited from Tomioka Town, as well as the disaster heritage resulting from the Great East Japan Earthquake and the nuclear disaster.

The goal of the museum is to "position complex disasters within the history of the region."

It conveys the fact that the everyday life accumulated over a long time in the region was taken away without warning, from the perspective of the town and its residents, and introduces the changes in the region that occurred after "that day."
